She began with a talk show on American television that lasted for 25 years.
As she became interested in meditation, she interviewed well-known figures on her show, such as Jon Kabat-Zinn (a key figure in bringing Mindfulness to the West) and Eckhart Tolle.
She even hired a meditation teacher for her employees, incorporating two meditation breaks into the workday.
However, Oprah now has another strategy: practicing presence as much as she can.
What does “being present” without meditating mean?
It means being able to direct your attention and focus on what you are doing, on your body, or on your sensations.
For example,
Every time you have a conversation with someone,
it seems like your mind is having a parallel conversation with you.
It tells you what you should say,
whether the person is trustworthy,
whether you can share what happened to you or not…
Or when you’re walking, your mind keeps its endless chatter going.
Thinking about what your coworker said,
what you need to do next…
If you integrate this “being present” into your daily life, you will:

- Experience the surprising power of a post-it to help you differentiate between the conversation you’re having with someone and the one your mind is having with you. I promise you’ll have a great time with this exercise.
- Learn how to take control of your thoughts with the help of your hands. If we practiced this exercise more often, we’d be able to enjoy many more things.

Don’t worry! The exercises are gentle and adaptable to any fitness level. We won’t do intense or exhausting movements, but rather practices designed to boost your energy and help you observe your thoughts in a relaxed way.
I understand that it might feel uncomfortable at first, but the workshop is designed to be a safe and respectful space. Plus, everyone moves at their own pace and within their own limits.
I will be repeating this workshop, so if you can’t make it due to unforeseen circumstances, you can join the next session.
At times, I will also be offering it in person in Barcelona or Stockholm, so you might have the option to attend a live session instead of online.
